A few weeks ago, contracts were signed between Deutsche Bahn and GBM Gleisbaumechanik Brandenburg/H. GmbH for the modernization of 25 track maintenance vehicles (GAF 100) with options for a further 40 vehicles. As part of overhauls, the vehicles are to be completely dismantled and rebuilt using new components in some cases. For example, the power train, wheelsets, cabin and crane are to be replaced with the latest generation of technology, making the vehicle fit for future.
"These orders represent a milestone for our company," says Dr. Volker Keller, Managing Director of GBM Gleisbaumechanik Brandenburg/H. GmbH. “We support the vehicles we manufacture throughout their entire life cycle and see ourselves as our customers' first point of contact for these vehicles. We are very pleased that we can significantly extend their life cycle through the agreed measures.”
With these orders, GBM Gleisbaumechanik will continue its growth trajectory in the coming years and make its contribution to the maintenance of the rail infrastructure and thus to the transportation transition. In addition to such modernisation projects, GBM Gleisbaumechanik is also involved in the construction of new rail vehicles and the maintenance of existing vehicles.
